Abstract
What does it take to build a career in engineering, and how does the path from university to industry unfold? In this interactive discussion, Theresa Honein and Dany Abou Jaoude, faculty members in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut, will engage Elie Ghossain in a conversation about his academic and professional journey and his experiences working in industry. The discussion will explore the transition from engineering education to professional practice, navigating career opportunities and decisions, developing the skills needed to succeed in industry, and the realities of working in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Speaker Bio
Elie Ghossain is an engineer and technology professional based in the San Francisco Bay Area, currently working at Tesla in Palo Alto, California. He holds an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has built his career at the intersection of engineering, technology, and innovation. Prior to joining Tesla, Elie worked at Caterpillar, where he was recognized with the company's Key Contributor Award for his contributions. His professional journey reflects a strong focus on engineering excellence, problem-solving, and the development of innovative technologies.
